Snowdrops and magic at hall
FOR a truly magical woodland walk this winter there is no place better than Burton Agnes Hall.
Visitors come from far and wide to see the thousands of snowdrops that fill the Hall’s Woodland Walk creating a spectacular white carpet over the forest floor.
Owner of the stately home Simon Cunliffe-Lister said: “The magnificent display of snowdrops here at Burton Agnes Hall grows more spectacular by the year and we always look forward to seeing visitors enjoying the wonderful sight amongst the beautiful surroundings of the Hall.”
The one mile long woodland walk, which is situated to the north of the house, was planted to form an arboretum walk along with a new wood adjoining in 1998 with gifts of trees following a party to commemorate the halls 400th centenary and Mr Cunliffe-Lister’s 21st birthday.
After enjoying the charm of the beautiful little snowdrops, visitors are invited to stroll around the Hall’s courtyard.
Here they can revel in finding the perfect gift from new season’s stock in the Gift Shop and Home and Garden Shop, purchase some seasonal produce from the Farmers’ Food Store and stock up on home grown plants ready for bloom in the spring, including snowdrops. After all that shopping visitors can relax with a hot drink and warming meal in the cafe before heading home.
